Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Malisha Batts is the fourth of five children born to William and Alice Robinson. Growing up in a large family instilled in her the values of resilience and community support, which would later shape her professional journey. After graduating from high school in 1992, Malisha took time to explore her path before returning to education. In 2016, she earned an Associate Degree in Human Services from Guilford Technical Community College. Her passion for helping others led her to further her education, culminating in a bachelor's degree in human services in 2022. Currently, she is pursuing her master's degree in the same field, with an expected completion date of May 2026.
In 2019, Malisha became a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, marking the beginning of her dedicated career in the social services sector. She later transitioned into a role as a Clinical Social Worker in Wayne County, North Carolina, where she applies her expertise to support individuals facing various challenges. Malisha is particularly passionate about addressing substance abuse issues, providing resources for the homeless, and fostering encouragement and support for families.
Beyond her professional achievements, Malisha is a proud mother of four amazing young adults. Through her marriage to Maurice Batts, her partner of nine years, she has embraced the joys and challenges of a blended family, acquiring four additional children.
