Program Overview

This program is designed to support postpartum women facing substance abuse issues, facilitating their re-entry into society, providing rehabilitation services, and ensuring adequate childcare support. The aim is to promote recovery, enhance parenting skills, and foster overall well-being for both mothers and their children.

 

Objectives:

 

1. To provide comprehensive substance abuse treatment tailored to postpartum women.

2. To assist in the re-entry process by addressing housing, employment, and legal issues.

3. To offer parenting education and childcare support to ensure the safety and development of children.

4.To create a supportive community that encourages long-term recovery and personal growth.

 

Target Population:

  • Postpartum women (within one year of childbirth) struggling with substance abuse.

  • Women involved in the criminal justice system or at risk of involvement.

  • Women in need of support for childcare during recovery.

 

Program Components:

 1. Assessment and Intake:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine individual needs in areas such as substance use history, mental health, family dynamics, and childcare requirements.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment outcomes.

 

2. Substance Abuse Treatment:

  • Detoxification Services: Provide medically-supervised detoxification if needed.

  • Inpatient Rehabilitation: Offer a 30-90 day inpatient program focused on addiction treatment, mental health support, and life skills training.

  • Outpatient Services: For participants who have completed inpatient care or prefer outpatient treatment, provide weekly counseling sessions, group therapy, and relapse prevention strategies.

 

3. Re-entry Support Services:

  • Housing Assistance: Collaborate with local housing organizations to provide stable living conditions for mothers and their children.

  • Employment Readiness Programs: Offer job training, resume workshops, and job placement assistance to help women regain financial independence.

  • Legal Aid Services: Connect participants with legal resources for custody issues, court cases, and other legal matters related to recovery.

 

4. Childcare Support:

  • Childcare Services: Provide on-site childcare during therapy sessions and treatment programs to allow mothers to attend without concern for their child’s safety.

  • Parenting Classes: Implement educational workshops focusing on child development, positive parenting techniques, and coping strategies for stress management.
